MUSIC

I love to experiment with synthesizers and electronic music. I'm interested in composition, production, mixing and mastering. In recent years I've started to take this more seriously, completing a dance music production workshop with globally renowned DJ and producer Steve Helstrip, aka The Thrillseekers, and studying mixing and mastering at Leeds Conservatoire. I work in Logic Pro running on a MacBook Pro and also own a large collection of analogue and digital synthesizers.

The sections below describe my musical projects

I would love to have my music professionally recorded, mixed, mastered and released and welcome approaches from record labels or artist management who may be willing to help me achieve this. Some of my projects feature music with vocals. These are currently rendered with AI pending the recruitment of a singer who has the voice and stage presence to front one of my musical personas, and a willingness to commit to a long term creative partnership.

THE NEON DISGRACE

In the mid 1980s I became fascinated by synth pop. More recently I've written many songs in this style. I have recently embarked on a project to turn my '80s synth pop songs into a reality. The advent of AI means I've been able to render vocals for the songs I've written, in perfect harmony with backing tracks which I'd already created. This has enabled me to create high quality demos with which I hope to attract a singer with whom to collaborate on finished recordings and live performances.

SYNTHASYLUM

As a teenager my dream was to become an eminent synthesizer musician, alongside the likes of Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis. While it's reasonable to suggest i haven't quite reached that level, I do take a great deal of plasure in propducing in this style and continue to develop new compositions. Synthasylum is the artist persona I created for this area of my work.

TRANCECONCEPT

As a young adult I became fascinated by the euphoria-inducing qualities of trance music and soon wanted to make my own. TranceConcept is the artist persona I created for the music I produce in this style. Look out for new tracks as I continue to develop new productions.

MITCH THOMPSON

This is the section for my other musical experiments, including songwriting, conceptual spoken word & music pieces and various musical scenes and vignettes intended to capture the essence of artistic visions which don't fit under my other distinct personas.
